is one of the highest cities in the world, aptly the
capital of the ‘roof of the world’. Lhasa has had a long
history of flourishing trade, consumerism, spirituality,
Buddhism and change. The modern Lhasa is an interesting
and often extreme experience for visitors, and things are
changing very fast.
Day 1: you will arrive in Gonggar Airport, and will
be met by a local guide. A Kada (white scarf) will be
presented to you as a symbol of good luck. Drive 60km to
Lhasa city and spend some time adapting to the altitude
Day 2: Visit Potala palace in the morning, the
residence of the Dalai Lama and the highest palace in the
world at 12,000 feet. Later visit the Jokhang Temple, one
of the most sacred temples for Tibetan people. Enjoy some
evening shopping in the Barkhor Markets to see different
types of products available.

in the Nyang-chu valley, is one of the principal towns in
Tibet, and is a different and refreshing place to visit.
There are many things in around the town that can be
enjoyed. Gyantse is 250km south-west of Lhasa.
After breakfast, leave for Gyantse enjoying views of
Tibetan villages and the beautiful countryside. On the way
you will see Kamba-la Pass and the Yamdrok-tso which is
one of the main lakes in Tibet. You will have lunch in
Nangartse. Afterwards, drive to Karo-la Pass where you can
enjoy the Karo-la Glacier and the holy mountain called

is the second largest city in Tibet and capital of the
Tsang province. Historically an important trading and
administrative centre, nowadays Shigatse is a rapidly
expanding Chinese town with the old Tibetan town every
diminishing. Shigatse is 90km north-west of Gyantse.
After seeing more sights in Gyantse, drive towards
Shigatse, stopping a watermill to see how Tsampa is made
(typical Tibetan food). Arrive in Shigatse and visit the
Classic Tibetan Watermill

After morning sightseeing drive back 250km to Lhasa along
Tibet’s longest river the Yarlung Tsangpo. You will have
sights of Tibetan villages, valleys and wonderful
countryside. Stop in Nyimo village for lunch and 2 – 2 ½
hours later arrive to Lhasa. Evening free for your
